The Perfect Game

The Perfect Game, A swoon, Awe, feel good book. I have been reading a lot of books with so much angst lately and this was a warm welcome. Don't get me wrong there is some conflicts in the story, enough to keep you intrigued but this story overall had a lot of love. I was Rooting for Cassie and Jack the whole time. Even when he hurt her I wanted it to be ok. There was the perfect blend of romance and sex but it never felt to mushy or over done. Well Done J. Sterling! This has a sequel coming but it also had a perfect ending. Another story will be icing on the cake. Cassie and Jack are the couple you want A happy ever after!

The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/sample/read/2940015750836
Argh omg! I am screaming inside that this story is over. Its a cliffhanger, I am slightly irritated that is over the way it is. Perhaps the fact that I care just means that this was captivating. Callie and Kayden are two of the most twisted characters a book can throw at you. Both with so much pain to overcome. My only saving grace is knowing that Jessica Sorrensen will be releasing a sequel because things have to turn around. There is so much torture for two souls I need them to find a happy ending. 4.5 out of 5

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

Reading Hopeless is one of those stories where during the first few pages I find myself highlighting lines and wanting to reread that line over and over again. 30 pages into the book and Colleen Hoover had me wanting to pick up the phone and call my best friend because she is awesome just like Sky's best friend Six. I loved first how this best friend relationship was developed. I think that is a part of any book that I really love, when there is a great love story but also the female gets great laughs with her best friend. Next we get our love story between Holder and Sky. Its that magnetic kind. Its filled with interesting twists and turns. Colleen Hoover does an amazing job keeping the reader entertained and invested in the story. There is sensitive subject matter and I think she portrays it well. I would give this 4 of 5 because it was fun and then it was great.

The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons

I kept getting suggestions from people on the internet to read The Bronze Horseman. What is this I wondered over and over again. I put it off, but then someone would suggest it again. Finally it went on sale and I jumped at the chance to read it. I was surprised to discover that the story takes place at the beggining of WWII in Lennigrad Russia. Tattiana is sent out by her father to buy as much food as she can because news of Germany going to war with Russia was just announced over the radio. Finding store after store being jam packed with people fighting over sausage, she thinks I'll catch a bus and go to a different part of town. She sits and indulges in one last ice cream cone. Alexander a soldier in the Red Army is at an intersection deciding which way to go. One choice, one simple choice, he sees her. Maybe that one choice changed their fate, or perhaps was their fate. One choice, to cross the street forever changes these two lives. This story is heart wrenching. Millions of people die. Starvation, war, disease, deceit, all are obstacles love must endure. So much happens in this story, I laughed and cried, then when I thought my tears were dry I cried some more. It's emo
tional and painful but exquisite. My sister asked me why do I want to read things that can make me cry, my answer should have been because sometimes you get to imagine a love story so beautiful that you are privileged to have a glimpse of some powerful words from anothers soul. I will carry this story, it will always be with me, following me the way the Bronze Horseman follows Alexander and Tattiana. One choice, to read this story, will be forever attached to my heatt. Once you read this then you know, this is the greatest love story ever told.

Avoiding Commitment and Avoiding Resposibility by K.A. Linde

In Avoiding Commitment Lexi meets Jack. She is drawn to him. She falls in love with him. I am not one to want to give spoilers in my reviews and its hard to review these two stories without giving anything away. Lexi is extremely drawn to Jack. K.A.Linde does an amazing job of making the reader understand how much she loves him. Its an earth shatering kind of love that Lexi has with Jack but it is not always reciprocated in a healthy way. Jack is selfish and in this story you bare witness to a womans struggle to learn to try and put herself first. There was a lot of angst and a lot of love in this story. I laughed, I cried and I anxiously waited to read Avoiding Responsibility. In Avoiding Responsibility Lexi is asked by Ramsey, a man who loves her dearly to go to Jacks wedding. This sequal is sexier than the first. It's all about Lexi following her heart and growing. Lexi has an awesome best friend in both stories but I really fell in love with her in this book. I imagine Lexi and her best friend Chyna as imensly strong, sexy woman. I love their dynmamic. I wanted to like Jack in this book and have him change. Sometimes you can always want a guy to change but things dont always work out the way you want. In this book it worked out better. THESE BOOKS ARE SO WORTH THE READ!

The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher

This is one of those stories that I kept seeing every book page rave about but when I read the synopsis I wasn't sure so I kept putting it off. I wish I had'nt. This book is is so frustratingly wonderful. It has taken me a few days to begin my review because I am left a little heartbroken. This is a story of a flawed woman who is in love but she can't seem to ever get it right with him or make it work. She sees him at a music store and talks to him for the first time in years. He has amnesia and she decieves him so that they can fall in love again. There are so many twist and so much heartache in this story. This is a reminder that sometimes love is not always enough for a relationship to survive. Sometimes it doesn't work the way you want it to or expect it to, however maybe it works out the way it needs to. I am anxious for the next book in this series to come out. This is sad and incredible, so worth the read.

Taking Chances by Molly McAdams

Harper+ Brandon + Chase= a crazy love triangle. This story was not predictable and it took turns in directions that I had not seen coming. That is such a refreshment. I found myself up until 1am saying, really did I just read that, that did not just happen. I enjoyed this story. Alot happened in this book which is also a nice welcome. Harper although confused sometimes is a fun strong charachter. There were a lot of family elements that this book has to offer. A life lesson that I get to keep enjoying is that family is whomever you need it to be, and often at the times when you really need them. My only qualms with this book is that the last 50 pages or so could have been edited way down. This story is a 4 out of 5.

On Dublin Street by Samantha Young

This book is Steamy! It's a story of a woman, Jocelyn from the states who has dual citizenship and she moves to Scotland after her life tragedies become so massive she needs to put continents in between. She is a broken woman who is extremely guarded. This is a journey of Braden trying to break down her walls. Braden is a sexy rich scottsman. The sex scenes in this book are some of the hottest well written scenes! I enjoyed this book but I did find it slightly predictable. I Would give it a 4 out of 5.

Make it Last by Bethany Lopez

Make it Last is a nice story about a relationship that ended in highschool. The couple goes off to college their seperate ways and returns four years lator for second chances. The main character,Nicole, is a sexual strong character which I like. She doesnt seem to loose herself in her man, Jake which is refreshing. I liked the characters, they were fun and a little refreshing. This book was to quick of a read and started to feel to rushed. Bethany Lopez had such a great start with these amazing characters and awesome sex scenes and then it felt a little bit like she was over it:(. I would have loved for this to be longer with more character building scenes. I finished it in a matter of hours and then felt like I didnt get a whole story. I would give this a 2.75 out of 5.

Fall From Grace and Saving Grace by Christina Zolendz

I am reviewing these two stories together because I read them back to back and they fit really well together. Christina Zolendz is frickin hilarious! In the second chapter she describes our hottie, Shane by saying he has a coochie award winning smile. Love that line! She makes up wonderful words like fuckasstard. Loved that one too. This is a story about a lost soul searching for her angel and she has been searching the earth for him for eternity. This story is written so well. Sometimes stories with plot
s this heavy can be draining with to much back talk however Christina lets this flow perfectly. There is some very hot love scenes going on in the second book and they are perfect. Christina has a way about her writing to make a scene that is only about music being played build to some kind of crazy sexy climax. I loved the characters in this book! They are funny, wild and confident! This is a great read, even if you are not into angel stories, there is enough other very real story line to keep any reader engaged. Hell this book makes me want to go do body shots! Loved them and would give them a 5 out of 5.

Just Remeber to Breathe by Charles Sheehan-Miles

Alex and Dylan are incredibly different and are each others first loves. This story is about the two of them finding their way back to one and other. The characters are well developed. The plot moves along at a nice pace. It was heart felt, yet very predictable. I liked the read and I read it in a few hours. It made me smile, however when I finished with this book I easily forgot the names of the characters. I would give this a 4 out of five because it was a nice read but a little to nice.

Reason to Breathe and Barely Breathing by Rebecca Donovan

I read these books almost a year ago. I loved them and decided to reread. Reading is sometimes my therapy. I read to find comfort, be entertained, laugh , and love. Reason to Breathe is a story that evokes so much emotion from me. I often find myself pausing while reading, almost having flashbacks to my own personal hell. Rebecca Donovan does such an amazing job of capturing what its like, the shame someone has when her family is broken, there is guilt, insecurities and embarrassment that go along with a troubled home life. Although my life was no where near the terror of Emma's, it was bad. I didnt tell. This book gives the pain a voice. In Reason to Breathe you follow a love story but you also are watching a girl decide if she is enough to love, and somewhere I think she starts to love herself. This book is so close to me, I had a Sara, and I had an Anna. Finding solace in my friends and the normalcy of thier lives is what got me though. They new some of my pain but I could never share it all. BARELY BREATHING Emma is trying desperatly to live and get over her pain. Again in this book Rebecca Donovan connects to such raw emotions. She tells a story about blocking out the bad things and not wanting to remember because remembering hurts to much. I have such few memmories from ten and under. Blocking out trying to hide the pain to those around you with a neverending smile is something I learned. I LOVE THESE STORIES! Thank you to Rebecca Donovan for connecting this story to so many people. As I read through this book for the second time it was so easy for me to have empathy but also theraputic in a way that I could look back, see some mistakes and maybe still after all of these years see some things that may still be a little broken, but perhaps thats the beauty of this story because maybe as I was reading and having some self reflection, maybe just a little of that healed. If you havent read these books yet, they have some heavy topics, but there is also a lot of love and life. THESE ARE TWO GREAT READS!

Cornerstone and Keystone by Misty Provencher books one and two of the cornerstone series

I am reviewing these two books together because I read them back to back. This is a unique paranormal read. In Cornerstone the characters are well developed. Nalena and Garrett have a strong connection and a nice start to a good romance. Nalena despite being a social outcast has a lot of strengths as a young woman. There are times in both stories where you think that Nalena is going to make the typical girl mistake and have some self doubt or doubt in her man that is going to put her in harms way but she does not. I would give Cornerstone a 4 out of 5. Keystone takes place immediatly after Cornerstone. There is a lot of action and suspense in this book. There is also some fantasy things that happen that are a little to far out to me. The book also ends at a cliffhanger moment and I dont really personally care for that. This book was a little out there for me. I would give it a 3 out of 5.

Stitch by Samantha Durante

STITCH is a nice beggining to what is going to be a trilogy. It starts off one way with the reader thinking that the story is going in a certain direction and then it completely changes. Stitch seems to have qualities that reminded me of Hunger games and then there is also a part of it that makes me think of Hitlers ara. I would have liked to see the characters developed a little better but I will read the next in hopes that it will. Another thing that the author did was explained things repetitivly and that tends to bore me. I am intrigued with the story enough that I wil read Shudder. I would give this a 3 out of 5.

The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

I recently read a review of this book so I had to check out. It's incredibly difficult to find enough adjectives to say how great this is. Words like perfect and flawless come to mind, perhaps complete or brilliant, no, no, those don't quite capture it either. It is hard to find the right word to describe how amazing this book is. I hope Katja Millay publishes a million books because this was just that good that it could have a crack like affect and anyone who reads it will just want more. Every page in this story is purposefull. It never feels rushed. It comes together, every piece of it in every way. This is a story of pain, and survival, of heartache, and love, of loss, and growth. The characters are troubled. Some are broken. Katja knows how to fix them. She is an amazing writer and I'm a little awe struck by her geniousness of this book. Everything fits, feels planned, just incredible. This story is about a girl finding her way home and so much more. READ THIS! READ THIS! Then tell a friend! This was breath taking.

Daughter of Light by V.C. Andrews

BOO! Can I get a refund. I was looking for a book to read a few months ago and I preordered Daughter of Light. It is a sequal to Daughter of Darkness which I read well over a year ago. This book was a very anticipated book by such a well known author I thought how could I go wrong so I splurged and spent the 7.99 for this e book. That is the only reason that I didn't put this down and stop reading it. This book didn't have me involved with a single character. I thought that there was unnecessary details in some places and not enough where it mattered. Do yourself a favor and don't read. JUST because you have made it rich as an author doesn't mean you should stop trying.

Ember by Jessica Sorenson

First Let me start off by saying I am a big fan of Jessica Sorenson. Ember is actually the last book of hers that I have not read. I was waiting simply because the cover put me off a little. I know don't judge a book by its cover. Ember is a story about a girl who can see death and how people die. Its a story about grim reapers and angels of death. This story is written in first person present tense which is something to get used to if you don't read a lot of things like that. I enjoyed this story but I would not recommend reading it until the next one is out. I feel slightly like I didn't get a whole book. It wasn't long enough. I will be reading the next though because although it wasn't long enough its a different story that I haven't read before. Her characters are unique and her writing style flows so nicely. I would give this a 3.75 out of 5.

Mark of Betrayal by A.M. Hudson

Let Me just say wow! My journey with this series has been possibly the best journey a series can take you on. I read this book about two weeks ago but I need this to be the first review I write on here. This book with out a doubt is the best of the series so far. Each book just gets better and better. A.M. Hudson writes so beautifully. She gets you so emotionally involved in the characters. This book took me emotionally in a place that I haven't had a book take me in so long. The love that Ara feels and the hurt that she feels is both breath taking and captivating. We get a lot of depth into some new characters (Arthur) in this book and we also say farewell to some old; Eric, you will be missed. Ara grows so much in this book and if anything this book to me is about her growing and building her strength as a character. You must read the three book before this one. Each book just picks up where the last one left off. I love that about her that she doesn't waste to much space in the book with back story. There is to much of a new story to tell. It is a Vampire series and so much more. I believe that it is an epic journey of the heart. I continuously check her page for any spoilers because it is one of those stories you dream about after you put it down. If you haven't read the dark secret series yet pick it up. You will not be disappointed. This is a 5 out of 5.

I'm having an affair

I'm having an affair with words. Stories have been captivating my soul. It's a love affair in so many ways. The way a story can embrace my heart, can entertain, make me laugh. Make me cry. Think things, feel things, that perhaps I want to hide. I'm having an affair with words. I'm compelled to read, compelled to write. I'm inspired. Words once saved me. My mind would race from all the heartache the world threw on my shoulders. Writing would ease so much of the hurt. Words on a page from my heart and soul would dry my young tears. Perhaps words are saving me again. Inspiring me to be more. Write more. Read more. I'm starting this blog to share some words. I want to share some amazing stories I have read and in hopes that maybe you can have an affair with words too.
